Nearly a month since my last update .. impressive :)

So, what happened? Well, mostly I’ve been on holiday and too apathetic to update my blog. Having spent a very relaxing couple of weeks in Florida I returned back to dear old blighty to discover that nothing much had changed. The most significant event to date being the final return of my car, which is now in full working order.

Our attempts at buying a house also seem to be moving along, finally, and hopefully today we actually get to exchange contracts so moving day can’t be too far away.

Perhaps the most astonishing thing to happen while I was out of the country was the rapid rise in the cost of petrol with some places actually charging 99p a litre for fuel – it’s definitely time to start taking the bike to work.

I’ve ridden in a couple of days this week on Elly’s Fazer and on my own ZX-9R and it continues to amaze me how utterly bloody rude car drivers can be. It’s not as though either bike is small, I always ride with my lights on and both machines make an almighty racket if you rev them hard enough. So why is it BMW and Mercedes drivers continue to view me as being invisible??? On a couple of occasions drivers on the M4 have pulled out in front of me because they (obviously) haven’t checked their mirrors first and in one instance a BMW driver in a static traffic queue went to the trouble of pulling his car over so I couldn’t filter past then swore at me out of his window when I tried to maneuver round him – I guess some folks just don’t like being overtaken by motorcycle riders. He seemed to cheer up when I gave him the finger on my way past – at least I *think* he was wishing me well as I pulled away …
