There's very little to be said other than : If your wife's not right Champion and suffering from a noggling pain in the clacker, she might want to visit the quack ....

It turns out this demo scening lark can be quite stressful on the human body - especially when you force nicotine and JagerMeister down it in time periods of up to 16 hours!!

Yesterday was quite a challenge and I finally collapsed at 5am aftre meeting a wide range of loons from across Europe. The Swedes who sit opposite us in the main hall were good beery fun as were the crew from SpeedFisters who generously offered to let us buy their special party t-shirts. I'm guessing Elly wouldn't have been too thrilled at the thought of thought of shopping in Marks & Spencer accompanide by me in a SpeedFisting shirt.

The payback is always a bitch and if it hadn't been Schleuss' birthday we probably wouldn't have gotten as pissed as we did and consequently I wouldn't have felt like death this morning - it's truly amazing just how ghastly you can feel after massive amounts of booze and tabs then five hours sleep in the car :) It's taken four hours to recover but finally I've had a goodly portion of cheese-filled sausage so I'm good to go!!!! Right, now which way's the beer tent????

btw - if anyone cares, there's a hanful of photos here

It's somewhere around 10am and I'm currently sitting in a huge sports hall in Bingen, Germany surrounded by 1500 like-minded geeks at BreakPoint 06 - one of the largest demo scene parties in Europe. Sleep is minimal, booze is maximal and to be honest, I'd hate to have the electricity bill at the end of this event :)

btw, the "demo scene" (for those not in the know) is a computing sub-culture which revolves around the production of short programs usually for the purpose of displaying the creators technical skill - and some of the folks have amazing levels of technical skill (and also no life whatsoever!).

If you've never been to a scene party I can totally recommend it, it's hot, tiring, the food is abysmal, the noise levels are insane and it's great fun :)

Over the last 24 hours I have discovered an interesting fact about JagerMeister - it's a subtle blend of 30+ spices which makes it a health drink, however drinking an entire bottle of the stuff didn't make me feel as healthy as I thought it would so it's probably best to get another one in today, just to see if the last one was defective in some way.

And now ... time for some quality German sausage ...

Oh no it's ....

April 1!!!!!! And you know what that means!!

Yes, once a year, every year, without fail, morons everywhere spend the day pulling crazy japes and whacky stunts on one another in order to amuse .. someone ...

I'm nipping off to bed early so I can get up at the crack of dawn in order to spend the day seeking out tomfoolery wherever it may lie then laughing myself into a coma at the ingenuity of it all.

Actually, that's an "April Fool", more likely I'll avoid the bloody lot of it and stay in bed. With a government like ours we don't need a designated day of fun and frivolity as they give it us 365 days a year - dodgy dealings involving shares or property - APRIL FOOL!, How about cash backhanders to pay off the mortgage??? APRIL DOUBLE FOOL!!!! Oh do stop it, I can barely contain myself.

If it were Christmas, I'd say Bah! Humbug!
